The brass flanged outlet has a male x female reducing thread, male being the larger size. The outlet is generally connected to a ball valve which can then manage and isolate the water coming from the tank at the water tank wall.

The outlet fitting is threaded and penetrates the tank wall. Included in the fitting are a backing nut and a washer. The washer seal ensures the tank does not leak.
